4 Ways to Put the “Pro” in Professional

1. Handbag

Black, grey, white, and other neutral colors look a bit boring after awhile. A great way to make those colors pop is to add a bold colored handbag. Red, baby blue, yellow, and pink are extraordinary colors that make your eyes go “BINGO!” once you see them.

2. Shoes

A girls best friend are not diamonds. It’s shoes. Whether it’s flats, heeled sandals, pumps or sneakers; shoes define an outfit. For that professional look,  pointed toe flats or heeled sandals and pumps work best at putting the icing on the cake to make that monotoned  outfit come to life.

Some may think having the highest heel is best, but NO! Stop there and think about elegance. I’m not saying it absurd to where heels higher than four inches. I’m just implying that certain heel sizes can have different meanings.

Just a simple four inch heel can make or break your outfit. Yes this heel is black, but the golden V gives a symmetric alignment that will force people to look down when they are talking to you. The only time this it would be a polite gesture of course. Louis Vuitton‘s mastermind designs for the high society, elites and professionals make your colleagues brain  think and mouth water.

3. Watches

Now, I know what you are thinking. “You don’t wear jewelry so how can you tell me what looks good?”. Well, I used to wear jewelry, but it’s just watches and I can tell you I’ve seen some very beautiful statement pieces from watches, necklaces and earrings. Watches are a must for a professional. How can you not look at the time. Time is money don’t you think?

For a classy, professional look, go simple! Bulky is for men. It is best to keep your wrist gleaming but subtly.

4. Accent Colors

Remember that black, grey, white and other neutral colors? Yea those. Add an accent color to compliment the piece. If your blouse is white and your slacks are beige, try adding a navy blue blazer or red scarf.

Accent colors are a MUST when it comes to neutrals. This goes for your bag, watch, blazer and other accessories. Yes! A blazer can be an accessory. Remember, accent colors can go with ANY neutral. School of Decorating has a good color chart for grey. I suggest you check their blog out.

On my journey to the fashionably intelligent, I’m learning a few hacks. I love sharing them with you all. Soon enough you’ll put the “pro” in professional.
